I have dream for our people to step into their greatness collectively. -Nipsey Hussle

Nipsey is a real estate mogul, a philanthropist, a youth advocate, a community activist and one of the most influential hip hop artist of our time.

I’m so hurt. Sunday my spirit broke and two days later, i’m finally able to get myself out of bed. But my energy feels defeated and depleted. I’m angry and I feel helpless but I’m trying so hard not to let this incredible loss to our culture and our community discourage me from all the GODliness that was Ermias Asghedom.

But  It’s exhausting.

It’s difficult growing up wanting to save the world and watch messengers that are on this earth to do just that be taken from us so suddenly.

I trust in GODs timing and pray these angels continue their journey on a higher plane, giving those of us left on earth with a similar heart, the courage, strength and discipline to continue their legacy.

Nipsey walked in his purpose and made a difference. He was the difference, in the souls of children and the hearts of the streets. I know he was a profit sent as a messenger to wake us up and lift us up, so I really don’t want to mourn his death, I want to celebrate his journey and mirror his energy.

Christ-like energy.

Very much like that of Tupac Shakur, Malcom X, Princess Diana, MLK, and my hometown heroes, Xuan Lai, Khalifah Muhammad and Lamar Walker. it’s our duty to honor the angels still with us, the ones that have came before us, and the ones that will follow after us.  our experience on this plant is meant to be lived selflessly NOT selfishly.

I respected him for more than hip hop. I admire him for his humanity, and his resilience to walk in his truth and live honorably and devoted despite all the odds against him in this jungle that constantly murders our hero’s. Poisons our speakers and leads to our cultures demise.

We need more Nipsey Ermias Asghedom Hussle’s in this world. I want to be exactly like Nipsey Hussle. Not only was he fine as hell, he gave and gave and gave until GOD called him back home.

I ask whoever is reading this to plan. plan how you can walk like NIPSEY and talk like Nipsey. use your voice, use your money and use your mind to invest and enrich our neighborhoods, schools and community initiatives. We lost a KING and if we don’t learn from his life and continue his efforts, we will be weaker without him.
